La Consejería de Fomento, Articulación del Territorio y Vivienda ha culminado el principal hito del futuro carril bici en paralelo a la Ronda Sur que conectará el Parque Tecnológico de Ciencias de la Salud (PTS) con la calle Almaciles, cerca de los túneles del Serrallo: la colocación de una pasarela de madera que permitirá superar el paso del río Monachil. La consejera de Fomento, Articulación del Territorio y Vivienda, Rocío Díaz, ha asistido a la colocación de esta estructura y ha avanzado que la obra “entra ya en su recta final con la intención de poner en servicio esta vía ciclista en los primeros meses del año 2024”.

La consejera ha señalado que este carril bici, que ha contado con un presupuesto de casi 1,2 millones de euros (dirección de obra incluida), se convertirá en “un elemento vertebrador de Granada con su área metropolitana, ya que facilitará los recorridos en bicicleta entre la Vega Sur y la capital granadina”. Rocío Díaz ha defendido la hoja de ruta del Gobierno andaluz “encaminada a ganar la batalla a la contaminación con mejor servicio del transporte público y más medios para favorecer los desplazamientos en bicicleta o a pie”.

“La Junta de Andalucía está dispuesta a aprovechar este momento, en el que la ciudadanía ha demostrado que está concienciada con hechos, como los récords de viajeros en autobuses y metros”, ha remarcado la consejera, que ha visitado las obras junto al delegado del Gobierno de la Junta, Antonio Granados; el director general de Infraestructuras Viarias, Alfonso Lujano; y el delegado territorial de Fomento, Articulación del Territorio y Vivienda en Granada, Antonio Ayllón.

Por último, Rocío Díaz ha destacado el hito que supone la colocación “de una pasarela singular por su diseño, por sus materiales, ya que se ha hecho con madera de pino silvestre, y por su traslado, puesto que ha sido construida en una nave y trasladada ya montada hasta el lugar”. Esta pasarela ciclopeatonal sobre el río Monachil cuenta con 27 metros de longitud y un ancho de 4,5 metros que facilita desplazamientos a pie y en bicicleta.

El futuro carril bici, que está ejecutado en un 90%, permitirá acceder a la senda ciclista existente de acceso a La Zubia, así como al futuro carril bici del río Monachil que tiene previsto ejecutar la Confederación Hidrográfica del Guadalquivir (CHG). Este sendero tendrá 2,1 kilómetros de longitud y una anchura variable entre los 4,3 y los 2,5 metros, en función de si es sólo vía ciclista o lleva adosado un recorrido peatonal.

El trazado da comienzo en un puente de piedra existente en las inmediaciones del PTS, con un carril bici de 2,5 metros de ancho y una franja para peatones de 1,8 metros en paralelo a la Ronda Sur hasta conectar con el camino de servicio del encauzamiento del río Monachil. En este punto, la vía ciclopeatonal cruza el río con la recién colocada pasarela de madera y continuará hasta el enlace de la rotonda de la Zubia, donde conectará con la acera de la calle La Sultana de la capital nazarí.

A partir de este punto, la vía pasa a ser únicamente para ciclistas. El carril bici prosigue en paralelo a la A-395, alcanza el enlace de Huétor Vega y se dirige posteriormente hasta la calle Almaciles, junto al centro comercial Serrallo. El carril bici culmina al final de esa calle, coincidiendo con el inicio de la carretera provincial GR-3202 hacia Huetor Vega. Además, se contemplan obras complementarias como aparcabicicletas y revegetación, así como la señalización horizontal y vertical y balizamiento para una vía ciclista.
