Moreno coloca la primera piedra de la prolongación sur del metro de una Granada que será “más sostenible” y estará “mejor conectada”
Insiste en que el objetivo es ofrecer un medio de transporte competitivo frente a otros más contaminantes: “Si el metro crece, el uso del coche baja”
El presidente de la Junta, Juanma Moreno, ha asistido a la colocación de la primera piedra de las obras de Prolongación Sur del Metro de Granada hasta las Gabias, que llevará este medio de transporte a más vecinos y municipios del área metropolitana, mejorando de esta forma las conexiones con la ciudad, su sostenibilidad, así como la calidad y actualización de sus infraestructuras.
Moreno, que ha destacado que se trata de un nuevo hito del compromiso que el Gobierno andaluz mantiene con Granada, sus infraestructuras y su calidad medioambiental, ha querido agradecer a todos los que se encuentran trabajando, y han trabajado, en el desarrollo de este proyecto, así como a los alcaldes del área metropolitana, su aportación.
También ha tenido el presidente palabras de agradecimiento para la alcaldesa de Granada, Marifrán Carazo, que impulsó el proyecto desde el Gobierno de la Junta; para la consejera de Fomento, Articulación del Territorio y Vivienda, Rocío Díaz, que tomó el relevo de Carazo; así como a la sociedad granadina por su empuje por la ampliación del Metro que llevan pidiendo desde 2017 y que, según ha dicho, “hoy comienza a hacerse realidad”.
Moreno ha subrayado que, para este Ejecutivo, el Metro es una infraestructura estratégica, y por ello se le ha dado prioridad a una prolongación que ha calificado de “muy necesaria” y “viable técnica y económicamente”.
Así, ha apuntado que todo este proyecto se va a financiar con fondos europeos a través de una inversión de 100 millones, de los que cerca de 28 son para este primer tramo. “No es un transporte más, es un gran paso para vertebrar el área metropolitana de Granada, con mayor cobertura de transporte sostenible y opciones para no tener que meter el coche en la ciudad”, ha destacado.
De este modo, Moreno ha explicado que si el Metro de Granada crece, el uso del vehículo disminuye, lo que supone menos emisiones de CO2 y mejor calidad del aire para una zona con altos índices de contaminación.
El presidente andaluz ha apuntado que la ampliación no sólo consiste en llegar más lejos, sino en hacerlo mejor para lo que se han contratado ocho nuevos trenes, ampliando la flota que aumentará en un 40% el número de plazos y también la frecuencia de paso, acortando, además, los tiempos de espera y las aglomeraciones en hora punta.
“Queremos un Metro moderno e intermodal con un aparcamiento para que los granadinos que viven en el área metropolitana puedan dejar sus coches y llegar a la capital con más comodidad y sin contaminar”, ha apuntado.
En este sentido, Moreno ha incidido también en que el objetivo es tener un Metro competitivo frente a medios de transporte menos sostenibles: “Este año tendremos récord histórico. Se prevé superar los 13 millones usuarios. Una cifra que esperamos que crezca con la prolongación Sur que hoy empieza a construirse”.
De esta forma, ha señalado que es un proyecto que encaja perfectamente con el carácter de Granada como provincia moderna, tecnológica y científica.
También se ha referido a otros compromisos del Gobierno andaluz con Granada, como es el hecho de haber destinado la mayor inversión de la historia a Sierra Nevada con 80 millones para modernizar y ampliar la estación de esquí conocida internacionalmente, o la puesta en marcha del Plan Alhambra para conectar el imponente monumento con la ciudad y recuperar el patrimonio de su entorno, con una inversión de casi 20 millones.
Además, destaca el acceso al Parque Metropolitano Industrial y Tecnológico de Escúzar y en la que será la infraestructura científica más importante de España, el acelerador de partículas del proyecto IFMIF DONES, o el apoyo incondicional para reclamar Granada como sede la Agencia Española de Supervisión de la Inteligencia Artificial.
Para concluir, ha reiterado el apoyo del Ejecutivo a esta ciudad y ha insistido en la importancia de que exista colaboración con otras administraciones y con la iniciativa privada.
