La adecuación se centra fundamentalmente en la colocación de elementos de seguridad en cuatro galerías y dos pozos existentes, con la instalación de rejas ancladas con obra de mampostería para minimizar su impacto visual.
“La ejecución de los trabajos ha estado dificultada por la imposibilidad de acceder con maquinaria a los puntos concretos de la actuación, al no existir accesos ni la posibilidad de habilitarlos al encontrarnos en un espacio natural protegido, recurriéndose al empleo de caballerías para el transporte de los materiales y equipos generadores portátiles a los puntos de trabajo”, ha comentado Fernández durante la visita.
Por su parte el delegado territorial de Sostenibilidad, Medio Ambiente y Economía Azul ha resaltado “la importancia de estos trabajos de adecuación de la seguridad de estos antiguos punto mineros abandonados, que al encontrarse en pleno corazón del Parque Natural Sierra de Huétor, suponen un importante riesgo para los visitantes que recorren este espacio natural protegido, que recordemos es uno de los parque naturales de la provincia más visitados, dada su cercanía al área metropolitana de Granada.”
